Jeep Auto Repair & Service

The Jeep brand has a long history as a manufacturer of reputable, versatile and rugged off road vehicles. The Jeep lineup includes trucks and SUVs.

During the Second World War, the military jeep was produced by Ford and Willys-Overland, and was popularized for its off road, four wheel drive system. The CJ-2A Jeep was unveiled to the civilian car buying public in the 1940s. It offered a tailgate, a rear mount spare tire, and an exterior fuel cap. The CJ-3B and the CJ-5 were launched in the 1950s. Around the same time, the Jeep brand was bought by the Kaiser corporation.

The Wagoneer debuted in the 1960s and came with a four wheel drive system and an automatic transmission. The Wagoneer was a first in the SUV market, and was a hit with family minded American public. Within the next five years, Jeep vehicles came with a V6 engine that produced twice the power than that of the common four cylinder engine.

In the 1970s the Jeep brand was sold again. The American Motors Corporation purchased the brand and added the CJ-7 to the model lineup. American Motors was able to achieve great financial success through the popularization of the Jeep product.

The Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee were introduced in the 1980s. The Wrangler took the place of the CJ product line and provided a comfortable riding experience. The midsize Cherokee SUV reached high sales records for the American Motors Corporation. At the end of the decade, Chrysler bought the Jeep brand.

In the 1990s Chrysler developed an partnership with the Daimler-Benz corporation. At that time, the Jeep brand became a division of the DaimerChrysler alliance. The Jeep division of DaimerlerChrylser continued to thrive until it was sold to a private company in 2007.

Today, the Jeep lineup includes the Wrangler, the Patriot, the Liberty, the Grand Cherokee and the Compass SUVs. The Wrangler convertible SUV has three trim options and can be purchased as a two or four door model. The Wrangler has speed control, a soft top roof, a CD player, an audio system with six speakers, towing hooks, and controls on the steering wheel. The Patriot compact SUV has three trim choices and comes standard with a fog lamps, fabric upholstery, speed control, roof rack side railing, a CD player, an audio system with four speakers, and controls on the steering wheel. The Liberty also has three trims. The standard Liberty features include heated mirrors, remote entry, alloy wheels, speed control, a CD player and a sound system with six speakers.
