The 70s closed with the company exporting over ten million units to the U.S.

During the 1980s the 4Runner, the MR2, and the Camry debuted. Of the three models, the Camry proved to be the most successful in sales. A decade later the company introduced the Avalon and the RAV4 and had built over a hundred million vehicles. Toyota was also developing state of the art technology features. The Toyota Prius was the first hybrid to be mass produced. It came out in Japan the late 90s and was on the American market early in the the new millennium.

The present models built by Toyota include the 4Runner, the Avalon, the Camry, the Corolla and the Highlander. The 4Runner has three trims that offer alloy wheels, hill assist and descent technology, heated exterior mirrors, speed control, fog lamps, a trip computer, an audio system with eight speakers, satellite radio, as well as USB, iPod and Bluetooth interface. The Avalon comes with two trims and gets a sunroof, speed control, twin region climate control, leather upholstery, alloy wheels, a rear visibility camera, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, and an audio system with nine speakers. The Camry features four trim options that provide steel wheels, speed control, power components, a CD player, Bluetooth interface, and an audio system with six speakers. The Corolla comes with three trim choices and remote entry, steel wheels, a trip computer, air conditioning, a CD player, and an audio system with four speakers. The Highlander is available with three trim levels that come equipped with alloy wheels, fabric upholstery, air conditioning, a CD player and a sound system with six speakers.
